Compliance, strategic planning services available from CUANM
The Credit Union Association of New Mexico offers two services to member credit unions to help with compliance regulations and their strategic planning.
Compliance Consulting Program
Every credit union must operate in conjunction with the laws and regulations implemented for all financial institutions. However, not all credit unions can afford a full-time compliance officer. The Credit Union Association of New Mexico is pleased to introduce to them a Compliance Consulting Program.
Benefits for the Credit Union
• CUANM’s compliance consulting service will assist your credit union in managing the growing regulatory burden;
• It will help reduce the risk involved in not having adequate compliance monitoring processes in place;
• You will have a qualified compliance specialist in your credit union providing this service;
• You will have the ability to ask the specialist specific questions and get the answers you need quickly;
• Staff time can be saved and used in other areas while the specialist is in your credit union.
Strategic planning services
The Credit Union Association of New Mexico offers strategic planning facilitation services, a process that can often be accomplished in one or two days. The goals-based process focuses on the credit union’s mission, vision and values and then works toward goals that support the mission.
Benefits for the Credit Union
• CUANM’s strategic planning service will help your credit union clearly define your mission and establish realistic goals and objectives;
• The action plan will be have a defined time table and be within the credit union’s capacity to complete;
• Board members and management will develop a sense of ownership in the plan;
• You can use the plan to communicate the direction of the credit union to all staff and even your members;
• Ensures an effective use of resources is being used on key priorities;
• Provides a basis from which changes to the plan can be made and subsequent plans can be built.
• Very reasonable cost for CUANM to facilitate the process and develop the written strategic and action plans.
